Almap BBDO for Billboard Magazine Won Cannes Lions Press Grand Prix
56. Cannes Reklam Ödülleri’nde Press kategorisinde Ogilvy Mexico hazırladığı Scrabble üçlemesi “Abraham, Otto, Efren” ilanlarıyla daha önce katıldığı ortaya çıkınca diskalifiye olup, onun yerine ALMAP BBDO’nun Billboard Magazine için hazırladığı ve Gold Lions alan kampanyası Grand Prix’nin sahibi oldu. Daha önce böyle bir şey oldu mu bilemiyorum ama kesinlikle tam bir skandal yaşanmış. Bu arada maalesef aynı kategoride Türkiye’ye sadece bir Bronz Lion var. O da DDB&Co.’nun hazırladığı CNNTÜRK ilanı ‘Kameraman’.
The Cannes Press Grand Prix winner, Ogilvy Mexico for Mattel Scrabble, was disqualified by the jury because it was discovered the campaign had been entered previously. Malicious maneuver or innocent mistake is unclear at this point. Gold winner Almap BBDO for Billboard Magazine has been elevated from Gold to Grand Prix. According to Adweek, which apparently was the deep throat behind this Cannes kerfuffle, Ogilvy Mexico creative director Jose Montalvo said the entry rules were confusing and that his agency thought it could enter the Scrabble work again since it wasn’t shortlisted last year.
