Marka Metallica
Dünyaca ünlü metal grubunun 9. albümü Death Magnetic’in kapak ve logosu Cannes Grand Prix’li ajans Turner Duckworth’ten. Geçtiğimiz yıl Coca-Cola çalışmalarıyla Cannes’de Tasarım Grand Prix ödülünü alan ajansın kurucu ortaklarından David Turner’in Creativity Online’a yaptığı röportaja göre grubun ajansa verdiği brief ise çok basitmiş: Metallica’nın eski günlerindeki metal ruhunu tekrar canlandırmak. Biraz daha fazla Master of Puppets ve daha az Reload. Ajans tasarımlarını hazırlarken öncelikle grubun geçmişte kullandıkları imajları ve dinleyicilerin Metallica’dan beklentilerini araştırmış. Daha sonra Metallica logosunu da tasarıma katarak Death Magnetic’in ikonik grafiği oluşturulmuş.

Cannes Grand Prix winner design and branding firm Turner Duckworth tunes its talents for the bands 9th album Death Magnetic’s branding. When preparing for their ninth studio album Death Magnetic,it’s obvious that the legendary rockers of Metallica were seeking torecapture some of the more recently-missing metal magic of theirearlier days. A little more Master of Puppets, a little less Reload. Hetfield, Ulrich and Co. teamed with award-winning design studioTurner Duckworth, which won the inaugural Cannes Design Grand Prix thisyear for its work with Coke, to recharge the band’s brand identity. David Turner, one of the founders of the agency says that they first looked at Metallica’s visual history, realized they have a reallystrong brand that has had a heyday but, in their fans’ perception tosome degree, had gone a bit of the rails recently. And afterwords they came up with Death Magnetic’s iconic graphics.
