In Lebanon, ended the fourth festival of Arabic advertising MENA Cristal Awards 2009. This «daughter» of European festival Meribel, now has become quite independent, and has been awarded 4 years awards the best advertising work from the region of Middle East North Africa (Middle East and North Africa). Fourth MENA Cristal Award Ceremony was held in the Lebanese town of Farayya.
MENA Cristal jury headed this year Milka Pogliani, Chairman & Executive Creative Director McCann Worldgroup Italy. Because creativity in the Arab world only spins up, the festival organizing committee did not hesitate to invite the Europeans themselves, who teach their colleagues to try and organize such meetings. This year’s jury, even got the representative of Brazil, Silvio Matos, General Creative Director of Grey Brasil.
The festival declares 12 nominations, some of which – a tribute to modern times. Even last year’s nominations were two times less. Now, the traditional Film, Magazine, Press Daily and Outdoor, as well as the Integrated and Website (transformed into Cyber) added Media, Advertisers’ Media, Corporate, Marketing Services, Radio and Production.
And if in the year in the nontraditional nominations were handed over only 2 orders, then the situation has changed dramatically – 57 awards in 8 new and not so new nominations, including five Grand Cristal.
In the traditional categories (movies, outdoor and print advertising) – 28 crystals, among them three Grand Prix.
Grand Cristals at this festival is traditionally served on one of the owners of Cristal, so all the winners of two awards.
Office network JWT had a record number of awards the agency received 23 awards, of which 2 Grand Prix and one spetspriz from the jury panel.
Ramsey Naja, Chief Creative Officer, JWT Mena: «Most of our victories took place in non-classical media, and this confirms that we are ready for the future of communications. And this, more than anything else to break my pride. These guys are not just worked really hard on the body, they think ahead of others ».
In the categories Outdoor, Magazine and the Daily Press served 22 crystal. Grand Cristal awarded in Outdoor and Magazine. Who provide the main prize winners of 8 in Daily Press, the jury was unable to determine.
The most awards received Qatari branch Fortune Promoseven (FP7) – One Grand Prix, 5 crystals in magazine advertising, and 4 in the newspaper
